Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the Law Institute
The Department of Foreign Languages ​​is the youngest structural unit of the Law Institute of the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University.
 
The department was founded in April 2017 through the reorganization of the Law Faculty into the educational and scientific institute "Law Institute of the State Higher Educational Institution "Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University".
 
The main purpose of the creation of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​was the further specialization of the educational process of foreign language training of future lawyers and the introduction of the latest communicative technologies for teaching foreign languages.
 
Teaching a foreign language in higher education is aimed primarily at the formation and development of professionally oriented foreign language communicative competence in students, necessary and sufficient for professional oral and written communication in a foreign language, independent search and processing of foreign language legal texts of various types.
 
Today, the law institute of first-class education has over 1,000 students who become highly qualified lawyers who speak foreign languages ​​as a means of communication in their professional activities.
 
The Department of Foreign Languages ​​provides teaching of the following academic disciplines: "Foreign Language", "Specialized Foreign Language", "In-depth Study of a Foreign Language", "Second Foreign Language", "Theory and Practice of Translation", "Legal Academic Foreign Language", "Contracts and Dispute Resolution in International Commercial Relations" and others, for students of all levels of training.
 
The largest number of disciplines is taught for bachelor's level specialties, in particular, these are the specialties "Law" (educational and qualification programs "Jurisprudence" and "Law of Public and Political Activity"), "International Law", "Political Science" (educational and qualification program "Political Technologies and Leadership").
 
In its educational, teaching-methodical, research and educational work, the Department of Foreign Languages ​​is guided by the Laws of Ukraine, orders and decisions of the Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, orders of the University Rector, decisions of the University Academic Council, the Academic Council of the Ukrainian Institute and decisions of the Department.
 
The work of the Department staff focuses on the following areas:
1. teaching-methodical work
2. research work.
 
The Department's teachers systematically make efforts to implement modern interactive teaching methods and technologies.
 
Considerable attention is also paid to improving qualifications and systematic professional development. The Department's teachers study at advanced training courses at various universities in Kyiv and abroad, and also participate in the events of the international organization of English language teachers TESOL
